President McCain–The court

September 13, 2008

I have not posted on politics in quite a long time, but I am now.

Inspired by a McCain inverview with the women of The View, I am postulating (as seen in the title of this post) a world of the future.  [squiggly lines, quiggly lines]

President McCain argues that Roe V Wade was a bad decision.  His Court replacement, although not appointed directly for her position on Roe V Wade, has today joined the Court Majority in over-turning that historic decision.  The states, as McCain argued in his campaign, will now be the arbiter of legislation and regulations and laws.

——

The balkinization of the United States continues.  Following along the lines of allowing gay marriage, a few states (MA, CA, etc) have quickly ruled to reinstate the allowance of choice.

———-

The new map of the US has grown increasingly Red/Blue, with an ever-increasing deepness of color.

I initially worried about individual states becoming islands of political ideology, but in some ways it would be nice to be around like-minded folks…

What do you think?

It’s like we are moving to the opposite of the melting pot. I do not think that bodes well for us because it would be (and is, imo) just way too easy to dismiss bad things that happen as only applicable to *those people* and not stand up for them.

We have to find a way to speak to one another. Yet every election cycle, the last thing I want to do is talk with other people because it hurts my brain so much to see how ill-informed people are (and I’m talking about the people I agree with!)
